Andrew Cowell (left) with
team
mate and AHRMA road race referee, Will Harding
2007 was an another exciting race season in the AHRMA 500 Sportsman Class on the Redline framed Triumph Daytona.
This
is a total of six Championships with our sponsorship British Cycle Supply.
I
consider myself fortunate to have the support of BCS and enjoy advertising
such a good company at the race meets across the country. We have been
together for ten successful years and Mark and his crew at BCS are so good
to deal with.
I thank Mark Appleton for
sponsorship and the great crew at BCS including Wayne, Martin, Gary and Ken
for prompt assistance as always. Special thanks again to Martin
Singleton who straightened me out on the ignition on the Moto Guzzi.
Come
and join us in the paddock and see us racing at one of AHRMA's event across
the country (www.ahrma.org).
I
will enjoy telling you the reasons why BCS is the best British Motorcycle
parts supplier in the country.
We
are always located in the AHRMA tech area and we always seem to have
excitement on and off the track. Next year, we will be campaigning the Rob
North 750 8-valve twin, the Michigan Engineering (Bruce Blake) sponsored
Moto Guzzi in the Battle of the Twins, and of course the 500 Triumph Daytona
Below is a bit of info/specs on each of the bikes:
The Triumph 500 Daytona:
Constructed in 1997 by Andrew Cowell, I have campaigned
this bike in the 500 Sportsman class with the sponsorship of British Cycle
Supply.
Within this time we have won six national championships
1998
2001
2003
2004
2005
2007
as well as multiple regional championships within AHRMA.
Most notable feature of this bike is the frame, a 1972
Redline manufactured Dirt Track frame. Only four of these frame were made
by Redline for the 500 Triumph Daytona and maybe this is the only sample
remaining. This adds plenty of character to this bike, making it an
unusual piece.

The character of this bike makes it of fun racing against a field of mainly Honda's.

750 Rob North 8 Valve Nourish:
750 Rob North 8 Valve Nourish:
This 750 Rob North frame originated from DM Engineering
in California who received 12 frames from Triumph USA Racing when
the program closed it's doors.
From DM Engineering a customer names John Lucas ordered
one of these frames to be modified to house the Norrish Twin instead
of the triple.
From 1986 to present, the bike has been campaigned in
the US by various racers including the notable Frank Shockly from
South Carolina.
I campaigned the bike in 2004 on a limited schedule and
won some races. This is an exciting and unusual bike that is light
and fast.
